Within the framework of the 10th Week Argentina's Occupational Health and Safety, on days 25 and 26 April, at the Comodoro Rivadavia – Chubut headquarters of the Oil and Gas Private Union it was held the "First Provincial Conference of Occupational Health and Safety", organized jointly by the Secretariat of Labour of the Province, Labour Risks Superintendent’s Office and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security of Argentina. Prominent speakers in the area of Occupational Health and Safety participated with the aim to present and analyze the situation, progress and the new challenges regarding the improvement of Working Conditions and Environment (Cymat), the prevention of professional hazards and the promotion of occupational health and safety. The UOCRA was present through its Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) talking about "UOCRA prevention actions and CYMAT proposals for improvements" with the collaboration of UOCRA, Comodoro Rivadavia. Workers, trade unions representatives, employers, entrepreneurs, professionals, specialists, universities authorities, social actors linked to the world of work, students and the general public were called for these sessions. During the two-day event there were delivered lectures, presentations and opportunities of reflection on advances, regulations and aspects of job security projects. Certificates of attendance were handed out at the end of the Conference by authorities of the Secretariat of Labour of the Province.
Within the framework of the Program of Communication and Dissemination, aiming to raise awareness and educate future technicians about the working conditions in the Industry, the UOCRA through its Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and the Constructions Department of "Otto Krause" Technical School organized the visit to the work of the Bicentenary Cultural Center. Otto Krause Technical School grants the Bachelor Degree of Construction Foreman. Its Authorities expressed our Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) the desire that students can learn practical aspects of risks control at work. Therefore, students and teachers visited the works of the Bicentenary Cultural Center, where the former Central Post Office Palace was placed, on April 23. The complex infrastructure allowed visitors to debate and know the cutting edge technology implemented in the works. We appreciate the support of UOCRA delegates, Authorities of Joint Venture UTE (Unión Transitoria de Empresas), Safety and Hygiene at work personnel and our Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), likewise the excellent responsiveness of the Students who attended the visit.

UOCRA continuously promoted that official regulations aimed at life care and the health of building workers were issued. Today we can say that, in Argentina, we have an extensive legal framework mandatory for all building workers. In order these standards can be known, UOCRA and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) published them together in an edition entitled "Argentina Occupational Health and Safety Regulations in the Building Industry". Among other activities that UOCRA and the Department of Health and Safety at Work are being carried out in various regions of the country, includes the "National Survey on the Perception of Occupational Diseases in Building Workers", and since there is a wealth of available information, it was made a booklet to make known the first results, in a publication of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) called "Professional Diseases - Fact Sheets" that tackles the problem of Occupational Disease in various Building activities to assist in its prevention.
Next 24 April at 1.30 pm, in the Training Room of Sanatorio Franchin, located at Bartolomé Mitre 3545, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), will be held a lecture on Child Sexual Abuse – Medical-Legal Diagnosis carried out by Dr Silvia Palomero,, specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics; specialist in Forensic Medicine; Forensic Physician of the National Justice and Associate Professor of Legal Medicine of the University Institute of the Hospital Italiano.
