  • The message of Pope Francis invites Governments, Economic Powers and the different Political and Social Actors to commit themselves to realize a global policy taking care of the environment and the poor under the concept of placing emphasis on the ethics of the most vulnerable.

UOCRA General Secretary, Gerardo Martínez expressed its absolute coincidence and support to the Pope Francis's Environmental Encyclical Laudato Si by means of which he summoned Governments, Political and Economic Powers and the various social actors to commit themselves to carry out "a courageous cultural revolution" which requires a paradigm shift in the care of "our Common Home" as described by Pope Francis the planet warning that "the deterioration of the environment and society affect especially the weakest”.
In the same vein, Gerardo Martínez said that "no one can be indifferent to this Pope Francis’ Encyclical which requires a change in culture, as a way of ensuring governance, the inclusion of those in greatest need and summons us all to the care of the environment as a way to privilege and put into practice the ethics of the poorest. The Pope speaks about relevant issues for society, for the young people and a future with social equity. Progress and development are important, but they must be sustainable and with social inclusion".
