  • UNION MEETING WITH DELEGATES FROM PLANTS OF READY-MIX CONCRETE

A new union meeting was held at the facilities of UOCRA Cultural Space with delegates and internal committees from different plants of ready-mix concrete of the City of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires.

Themes related to health and safety at work were addressed at the meeting in relation to the surveys carried out within the framework of the ‘Programme of survey of working conditions’. 
In different plants together with UOCRA Department of Health and Safety at Work, we have observed along with companies the improvements to be made in the different processes and job positions to reduce accidents at work and occupational diseases.
Subsequently, topics concerning the impact of substances on workers’ health and their families and prevention actions which are carried out from UOCRA and from our healthcare Construir Salud were addressed within the programme of the ‘Prevention of Addictions’.
The closing of the meeting was in charge of our General Secretary Gerardo Martínez who emphasized the strategic importance of this specific branch of the construction industry and its high impact on the activity. He also highlighted the union work of our Organization and the importance of the union training in health and safety for the delegate body to obtain better working conditions, and the importance of our union groups to replicate UOCRA actions in regard to prevention of health, addictions, adolescence, children, among other themes, to achieve welfare of our families. 
Finally, we highlight the participation of more than 130 team mates and delegates, the presence of members of UOCRA Directive Commission, Secretary of organization and Union Matters, Ruben Pronotti and Secretary of Finance, Osvaldo Rodríguez and General Secretaries of different branches.
From UOCRA, we believe and support the concept of decent work as a valid tool to improve workers’ quality of life and their families.
