REGULARITY OF CONTRIBUTIONS

REGULAR AND IRREGULAR CONTRIBUTORS

Current law requires workers to meet a minimum amount of contributions to be entitled to retirement because of disability or pension in case of death. According to the amount of contributions, there are different categories:

- ELIGIBLE REGULAR CONTRIBUTOR:
It is who records 30 months contributed within the last 3 years prior to death or to the application for retirement in case of disability.
It is also considered a regular contributor, that one who produces evidence of 30 years of service with contributions

- ELIGIBLE IRREGULAR CONTRIBUTOR:
It is who records 18 months contributed in the last 3 years. This contributor is entitled to retirement due to disability and their family members to the pension, but the amount of the benefit will be lower.
It is also considered an eligible irregular contributor, the one who can produce evidence of 50% of the required years to be entitled to the ordinary pension, provided you have 12 months of contributions within the last 5 years prior to the death or the application for retirement in case of disability.
