The Argentinean Building Workers Union [Unión Obreros de la Construcción de la República Argentina, UOCRA] is a Union Organization that vindicates the concepts of solidarity, production and social equity based on the method of proactive, transforming and modern action. Globalization compels us, as social leading parties in the workers´ legitimate representation, the challenge to recreate our principles, to adapt them for the new mechanisms which prevail in the developed societies. It does not mean to turn the back to our historical rights, which were got by our predecessors´ fight, sacrifice and the service vocation. On the contrary, it means to be able to analyze the current pragmatism and use the new tools at hand to assure a predictable future which guarantees the workers right to be a constituent part in a society of full job and with discrimination of any kind. In that direction, supporting the historical features which characterized the Argentine trade unionism for its transforming and avant-gardism capability, our trade union understands that solidarity, social equity and life quality are nowadays built up with tools such as training, participation, agreement and proposal, within a framework of productivity, competitiveness and an equitable wealth distribution.
