Gerardo Martínez, as a member of the ILO Governing Body, Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Republic of Argentina CGT and UOCRA General Secretary participated in the meeting with ILO Director-General Guy Ryder and with the Minister of Labour of the Province of Buenos Aires, Dr. Oscar Cuartango.

  • Gerardo Martínez, as a member of the ILO Governing Body,  Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Republic of Argentina CGT and UOCRA General Secretary participated in the meeting with ILO Director-General Guy Ryder and with the Minister of Labour of the Province of Buenos Aires, Dr. Oscar Cuartango.

Minister Cuartango provided details of progress on work in the Province of Buenos Aires, in charge of Governor Daniel Scioli.

During the meeting, where also participated the Director of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security of our Nation, Julio Rosales; Deputy Minister of Employment of the Province, Luis Antonioli and the Provincial Director of Inspection, Raúl Ferrara; Minister Cuartango presented two labor laws "of successful implementation in the Province": Collective Bargaining of the Municipal Workers; of Joint Committees of Health and Safety at Work. At the same time presented two draft bills: Collective Bargaining for Judicial Workers and appointment of Independent Body in Collective Bargaining.

On the other hand, the meeting dealt with issues related to the situation of the Argentine economy and it deepened about the Trade Union model proposed by Daniel Scioli, which according to what Cuartango explained "it includes suggestions made by the ILO Committee of Experts and responds to a Model of Promoted Trade Union Unity". At the same time, "and necessarily, unity must be accompanied with trade union democracy and participation of workers in the life of their organizations", he concluded
