Gerardo Martinez received José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs from International Labour Organization ILO

Mr. Salazar, future Director of the ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean based in Lima, attended the headquarters of UOCRA accompanied by Mr. Pedro Furtado de Oliveira, Director of ILO Office in Argentina, where he met Mr. Gerardo Martínez, CGT RA Foreign Affairs Secretary and UOCRA General Secretary, to participate in the Regional meeting of Cinterfor, which was held in Buenos Aires and just days away to take over the Direction of Regional Office.

Mr.  Martinez delivered the welcome speech and offered a comprehensive analysis on the Americas, the importance of fundamental rights, and mainly the importance of effective social dialogue.

Mr. Salazar upheld the Mission of the ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean to contribute with the primary objective of the Organization to promote opportunities for women and men to get a decent and productive work under conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity.
