On behalf of the Workers Members Gerardo Martínez is re-elected as Regular Member of the ILO’s Governing Body

for the period 2014-2017

Gerardo Martínez, CGT RA Foreign Affairs Secretary and UOCRA Building Workers Union of the Republic Argentina (UOCRA), was reelected as regular member of the International Labour Organization ILO’s Governing Body within the framework of the 103rd International Labour Conference held in Palace of Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland.

Trade union representatives of workers from over 127 countries of labour representation before the ILO participated in the election and Mr. Martínez was elected with a large majority among the 14 regular members, who shall hold their office for the period 2014-2017.

With this election, Gerardo Martínez was ratified in his international representation of workers for fourth term as a regular workers member to the Governing Body, position held since 2005 in three consecutive terms (2005-2008; 2008-2011 and 2011-2014) meaning a clear support from his peers to his management in the defense of workers’ labour and social rights.
