We are pleased to announce that our fellow Gerardo Martínez, CGT RA International Relations Secretary and UOCRA Secretary General, has been appointed Vice-president of IV Conference on the Sustained Eradication of Child Labour to be held on November 14th and 16th in the City of Buenos Aires. The Conference, promoted by the International Labour Organization (ILO), an entity in which Martinez is the argentine workers’ representative and full member of the Governing Body, will be attended by over 1,500 government representatives, corporate organizations and trade union federations from all over the world which will discuss these problems and will issue a joint statement of policies and strategies to adopt with the aim of reducing and eradicating child labour and its worst forms, which nowadays affects 152 millions of children worldwide. The Conference includes the analysis and action plan of forced labour and youth employment.
