UOCRA, through their Sectionals and Delegations in the province of Santa Cruz, and after the completion of multiple assemblies of workers, decided to deepen their claims and protests, situation arising from the unrest with the company Austral Construcciones which paralyzed their works in progress, affecting the jobs of more than 1,800 building workers who also are owed wages and additional holidays bonus. UOCRA Santa Cruz, when decreed the state of alert and permanent mobilization in the province, decided to deepen their claims and forceful measures, which began in the last late December, with direct action through blocking over 13 towns accesses in this province. Our union leaders for the cities of Caleta Olivia, Perito Moreno and Puerto Deseado (Cristian Salazar), Piedra Buena (Rubén Molina and Mateo Suarez) and Río Turbio (Angel Lopez) are leading the protests along with affected workers and Trade Union action extends to the towns of Las Heras, Gobernador Gregores, Pico Truncado, Puerto San Julián and Río Gallegos , among others. Forceful measures, initiated in December, increased as a consequence of failure to comply with a schedule of payments agreed with the company Austral Construcciones. UOCRA intends to continue with its trade union action plan to ensure the continuity of the jobs of affected workers, the payment of wages owed and continuity of the works halted.
