Programme on the Prevention of Risk Consumption of Alcohol and Other Psychotoxic Substances organized by UOCRA and the National Ministry of Health

Closure of the first stage of training courses and prevention

The first stage of the Programme on the "Prevention of Risk Consumption of Alcohol and Other Psychotoxic Substances" organized by UOCRA and the National Ministry of Health was completed. It was aimed at works delegates from Capital Federal and the Northern area of Greater Buenos Aires of our Trade Union.

In the presence of Gerardo Martinez, UOCRA General Secretary; Rubén Pronotti and Osvaldo Rodriguez, General Secretaries of the organizing sectionals; María Victoria Villa, Head of UOCRA Institute, and representatives of the Directorate of Mental Health and addictions of National Ministry of Health, there were delivered corresponding certificates at the closure of the Programme.

The Programme which aims to provide educational tools to delegates, so that they can effectively perform a first approach to this type of issues at the workplace, contributing to facilitate the required containment to affected workers and their families, and promoting their referral to specific health care services, contributing to treatment and strengthening of family social and labour ties of eventually affected workers, was attended by 63 delegates.

Gerardo Martínez stressed the importance of training for our delegates in addressing these issues, incorporated into a complementary Union training project, providing tools that work together to achieve a better task of prevention and early detection of these consumption risk, as well as the comprehensive health prevention of our building workers.
