Argentinean Chamber of the Building Industry [CAC] Annual Meeting

"THE BUILDING INDUSTRY IS A PILLAR OF GROWTH WITH EQUITY, EMPLOYMENT, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL JUSTICE"

Within the framework of the 62nd Argentinean Chamber of the Building Industry [CAC] Annual Meeting, our General Secretary, Gerardo Martinez participated on behalf of the building workers and shared, together with Mrs. President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner; Engineer. Mauricio Macri, Head of the City of Buenos Aires Government; Minister of Federal Planning, Architect Julio De Vido and a group of national and provincial authorities his current and medium-term view of the activity in our industry, which is the engine of economic activity, development and labour and social insertion.

Gerardo Martínez stressed during his speech, the importance of our industry by stating "the building industry is a pillar of growth with equity, employment, economic development and social justice".

Also, during his speech he praised the political decision of the Government to consider "public works as a State policy, changing the paradigm of considering infrastructure and housing policies as a productive investment that promotes the development and not as public expense."

Martinez added that: "we accompany this political process that placed our industry as the axis of the country's economic recovery process from the very beginning" and added that "from UOCRA we've made fair wages, job formality, training and vocational training and safety and hygiene, inalienable flags that have allowed us to place the concept of decent work as axis and development of our industry".
