NATIONAL PROGRAMME ON SURVEY OF WORKING CONDITIONS

MORE PREVENTION ACTIONS – UOCRA AZUL

  • NATIONAL PROGRAMME ON SURVEY OF WORKING CONDITIONS

We continue carrying out survey actions and improving working conditions between UOCRA Azul and UOCRA’s Department of Health and Safety at Work (HSW). We were present at the worksites of the windfarm “;Los Teros” and in the extension of the thermoelectric plant Barker.
On May 14-15, UOCRA’s Department of Health and Safety at Work (SST-UOCRA), as well as UOCRA Azul and the delegate team, helped carry out a survey on Condition and Environment of Work in the construction of the windfarm “;Los Teros” and in the extension of the thermoelectric plant Barker.
The windfarm “;Los Teros” is located in the city of Azul and it is currently in the implementation of Phase 1 which consists of the installation of 32 wind turbines that generate about 122 MW, good enough to produce clean energy equivalent to the needs of 180,000 households. Currently, about 140 workers are building the bases where the wind turbines will be installed and the construction of the substation for energy storage.
As to Barker thermoelectric station, the extension is being carried out with the aim of increasing its capacity of generation from 150 MW to 250 MW. This will be achieved by turning this station into a combined cycle power. That is to say, it will increase its power adding to the existing one, gas turbine and steam turbine that will allow the original generation to 100MW. At present, about 300 workers are at worksites carrying out reinforced concrete tasks and assembly of structures.
