Our tasks are based on the protection for workers and the prevention of work-related accidents and occupational diseases which may have an impact on health and quality of life of workers. In this respect, we have developed, together with workers and delegates from ready-mixed concrete plants, a manual on health and safety at work for ready-mixed concrete plants. In this area of work, firstly, a survey on the different job positions and their tasks was carried out to develop protection and prevention measures that arose from the risks of each task. The main goal of this manual is to be a permanent query tool for workers and delegates so that they may observe compliance with the rules which are applied to this type of plant. The teamwork will allow us to create the right conditions and the necessary proposals for the continuous improvement of job positions. The contents of the manual include topics such as: What is reinforced concrete? workroom at plants, also the materials which are used and the different types of plants and the waste that they generate, machinery and equipment which are used, safety measures that must be applied and their follow-up, among others. In this way, UOCRA continues to work on decent work conditions and proposals that allow us to improve work conditions and reduce accident rates at worksites.
